Lan Ha bay is located at the East of Cat Ba island and borders Halong Bay. The bay measures 7000 ha, of which 5400 ha are under management of the Cat Ba National Park. This smooth area with a curvy shape counts around 400 large and small islands. The islands and islets of Lan Ha Bay are all covered with green lush.

Luon Cave is about 60 meters long and 4 meters wide. Height of the ceiling ranges from 2.5 – 4 meters up on tidal level. Therefore, it only can be accessed by small bamboo rowing boats or kayaks that many tourists prefer this transfer methods. Passing through Luon Cave, you will reach a quite large lake (diameter is about 1 km) formed by an enclosed group of lime-stone mountains. It’s a brackish lake with calm and green sea water. You will see many fossilized freshwater snail shells on the cave’s wall, proving that it was used to be a deep freshwater valley. Especially, it’s highlighted with pristine setting of ferns, orchids and wild golden monkeys. If you like going kayaking; also want to see wild monkey, it would be an ideal choice to visit this lovely cave.

Monkey island: Monkey Island is 1km far from Cat Ba Town. It takes about 10 minutes from Ben Beo harbour to reach it. On the way, you will be passing by Cai Beo fishing village and some small islands. The monkeys often go to the beach to play with the visitors, and looking for food. Be careful with your belongings!
